Emily woke at about 6:30 this morning and decided to go ahead and get up since she was awake. She spent the morning with her devotionals and her breakfast and before long, the morning had slipped away and it was time for her to get ready for the Sunshine Club outing. She provided a narrative of the rest of the day.
On this rainy cool day some 30 or so Sunshine Club members congregated at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where Bruce performed an organ concert of favorite Christmas music. Then we took a bus ride. (Bruce is not only the organist, and the organizer for the Sunshine Club, he's also the bus driver!). We arrived at the Castle in Eagle Bluff where the Dondero's reside. Our hostess, Helene Dondero greeted us as we entered the beautiful home.
Bruce and Scott Carver served a delicious lunch of Parmesian Chicken, steamed vegetables, and rice. This was followed by pecan tarts with whipped cream.
The view from the very warm and comfortable home of fog rising from Lake Chickamauga as we looked over the bluff was impressive. So a wet, rainy chilly day gave way to a cheerful happy event. What a blessing to have such an outing.
Mia and Clyde came by at supper time with taco soup. Lynn and Alan came by and joined us for a good supper and a nice visit.
