Emily had two doctor visits today. She went to the nurse practitioner at Dr. Cannon's office and got her stitches out. She said that the stitches were done with very fine thread and that they were difficult to get out, but that the place is barely noticeable. The nurse practitioner put steri-strips on the place and then a bandaid over it. She then went to see the hand doctor. She then went to see the hand doctor. He says that she has a bone chipped in her first joint. He made a splint for her thumb which is much smaller than the cast that they put on in the emergency room. She has to keep it on all the time except when she is washing her hand so that it stays straight. She is a bit provoked that she has to keep it on for at least 6 weeks. She says the thumb is a really good invention and that it's really hard for her to get things done without it.
Later in the afternoon, she worked in the garden and planted more peas and some beans. She also spent some time in the afternoon getting some of her banking straightened out. She's been without access to a computer for a few days because her monitor quit - Alan took a monitor down and got her fixed up so now she has access to her e-mail again.
