April 1, 2010

Another beautiful spring day - I was working in the house this morning when Valdis called to say he could come by and work in the yard for me.  We put in a stake to straighten the little weeping cherry that is blooming so beautifully.

We also got a good start on some projects. Valdis' friend called to say that he needed help getting his car to the garage. So Valdis went to help his friend; he promised to come back as soon as he could.  It is so easy for me to stay outside on such a beautiful day, so I kept finding little jobs to do.Four thirty found me still outside! I bought myself a pair of bright pink boots to keep my feet clean when I'm doing garden and yard work.

Tom Carroll called to ask if I'd like to have the garden tilled today. Two young men came and spread the grass clippings on the garden and tilled it. They also cut the willow tree stump. Maybe I'll get some more peas and some beans planted.

Steve is coming by for a brief visit on his way to Nashville for Madison's BIRTHDAY! She was one year old yesterday March 31st! Pat went earlier to help make preparations.

Tonight I went to the Maundy Thursday service at 1st Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Dr. Carver led us in a moving meditation. Phyllis, Lillian, Dean, and Thelma were there. I missed Gene!
