Emily wasn't intending to go to Sunday School, but looked at her watch wrong and ended up there early. So she visited Dr. Carver's Sunday School class where they were discussing 1st Peter Chapter 4 - the discussion was about suffering. She enjoyed church service this morning - it focused on stewardship and a gentleman who serves as an elder with her, gave the talk.
There are about 5 or 6 women at First Cumberland Church who have lost their husbands in the past few months, so the church will be sponsoring grief counseling service through hospice. Emily is going to participate - she thinks that it will be on Thursdays. The men who died all seemed to have been good friends with Gene - and they are buried at the National Cemetery.
This afternoon Emily went to the Cemetery and took flowers. Someone had decorated Dad's grave with a small flag. Perhaps they left it during the Veteran's Day service last Tuesday. Emily found that a woman and her neighbor were visiting her husband's grave which is very near to Gene's. They had a good conversation and took pictures for one another.
Later in the afternoon, she took the pansy baskets she had made for Lynn and Alan up to their back yard where she found Liga at home. The two of them found a place to hang them and gave them a good watering. Later in the evening she went back to have dinner and a visit with them.
